May I Have a Drumroll Please...

[You know, just do that thing with your tongue.]

"Introducing...

In his first Always Casting On Blogger debut as a whole bear...

Let's give a warm, hearty welcome to...

Ainsley Bear!"

"Hey folks, pleased to meet you!"

He's just a wee little guy...

and he looks so happy!

I finished him very early Sunday morning. Let me just say that this beginner's kit should come with a supply of bandaid's! I can't tell you how many times I stabbed myself with the needle. My thumbs are still sore, but not as much as they were yesterday. I still want to do some shadowing around his mouth, but I'm very happy with the way my first needlefelting project went, sore thumbs and all. I found the hardest part was threading on his arms and legs. I will definately continue needlefelting. I just need to find a place to buy the supplies here in Canada.

I'm down to the toe decreases on my Camelot socks and should have a pic sometime tomorrow. I hope. [wink]

What a cutie! He's great! Great job on your first time needle felting. I haven't crossed that bridge myself yet, but your cute bear sure is an inspiration to consider doing it sooner rather than later!

Squeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! He is so cute! I love the eyebrows. I just want to pop him in my mouth. Great name, too. Nice job! I think I may have to give this bear thing a try.

Oh, he's absolutely adorable! And Norm symphasizes...those little needles can do some serious damage! Did it send you flying out of chair when you stabbed yourself? Did you swear it hit bone?

Here's some sources as promised:

For bear supplies:
http://www.discojoints.on.ca/
A canadian company and their shipping is reasonable and very quick.

And for needle:
www.geminifibres.com

This is where we buy our needles, but i've always bought at fairs from them, so I'm not sure what their shipping is like, but they are canadian.

Norm uses Size #36 ans Size#38. We ususally buy them in packs of six because it less expensive, but each needle does last a long time!

Hope that help, let me know if you want some roving!

That guy is adorable! When I felted my first bear my fingers were killing me! I actually pierced my middle finger and had an extry and exit wound.
Seriously, though, that is the happiest little teddy I have ever seen.
