Well, Well, Well...

What do we have here? Could it be possible that I've actually made some progress on a couple of my projects? Could it be conceivable that all this was achieved because of two wonderful boxes of Band-Aids? Could it be that simple?

Why, yes it could!

Why the hell didn't I think of using Band-Aids a couple of weeks ago? [This is being said in my deep voiced, snarky tone that I occasionally use...okay, I use it alot] I was so fed up trying to knit with my cotton glove on because I kept knitting in the tip of my left index finger that I decided to actually use my two, perhaps even three brain cells before I came up with a better solution. The Band-Aids are great because they're flexible, cover the parts of my fingers that are easily irritated and most importantly, they don't get in the way.

Amazing what a desperate woman will do to get knitting again.

So, this is some of the progress I've made since Saturday. Please excuse the awful pics...

A Step Above Socks

Yarn: Paton's Kroy, Candy Kisses
Pattern: Knitter's 75 Summer 2004
Designer: Kathleen Power Johnson

Comment: I didn't enjoy making these socks, but that is because I've learned that I don't enjoy knitting entrelac, so let it be known that this technique is a personal preference. I do however, love how they fit and would sacrifice myself to make another pair in the not so near future. [g]

Mariah the 2nd

She is in yoke formation! So far, so good...it's a wait and see situation right now. I'm just keeping my fingers crossed that I placed the pockets in a good position, cause I ain't doing this again!

Zigzag

Oh my, what have we here...a sleeve? Why, yes indeedy. I had been working on this sucker for a week and a half...maybe two weeks. I started on it as soon as I saw new stock for highland wool in this colour go up at elann. I wanted to make sure I had enough, as I thought I was cutting it pretty close, but I was worried for nothing.

I also completed the neckline. I decided to try my hand at using the tubular cast off, mainly because I didn't want a raw looking edge that a knitted cast off would have given me and it gave me the opportunity to finally try it for the first time. That and I didn't think I would have been able to squeeze my head through the opening had I used a knitted cast off. [g]

Yes, I tried it on and yes, my head fits through the opening.

Last, but not least, I received the pullover pattern from Mary Maxim I requested for the Sirdar Yo-Yo yarn in the mail today. This will probably be my next project when I've completed the above projects. I just wonder how many more boxes of Band-Aids I'll use?

Keep On Knitting...

Glad to see you are back knitting. I can't wait to see that zigzag pullover being modeled. If it fits well I might have to make that myself some day. Love your color choice.

Mariah on the floor looks like an alien or strange botanical thing. These are the moments when non-knitters don't get how it works, right? How can THAT become a snazzy looking cabled cardi? Well, WE know, Michelle, don't we!

Glad you got back to knitting, hurray for band aids and thanks for your birthday wishes.

ZigZag is looking great!

The entrelac socks are smashing! Pity that some projects that wear well aren't that fun to knit. Would your DH have a pattern to offer for the swift? Mine might be wrestled into making one for me, too. Or DD whose LYS isn't as nice as mine!

Glad the band aids work... it wouldn't do to have your talent side lined. I know very little about excema... Would Gloves in a Bottle help? It does wonders for my snaggy bits.

Michelle, your rose trellis bag is beautiful. I'm almost ready to felt and am wondering if you rolled up the roses before or after feling.
