Woot!

Eris cardigan is complete!

But I don't have a pic yet.

BOO, HISS!

Now, now. Calm down. I'll get a pic. I promise.

My poor exhausted husband/photographer has been working 12-hour graveyard shifts this week and my furnace broke down [better now than in the dead of winter] and it was Halloween and I needed to get the laundry, dishes and floors washed and well, you get the picture, um, perhaps you get the "message" would be the better word to utilize here. Sooooo, the pic will be posted sometime Saturday.

So, while you wait patiently, I give you this for you reading enjoyment.

I've been tagged by Wannietta.

What is your all time favourite yarn to knit with?

This is really sad, but I love sock yarn. Funky coloured or plain. Striped or variegated. Luxury or afforable. Any brand, it doesn't matter. I'm forever drawn into the sock yarn abyss. It's just so fun.

Your favourite needles?

I love my Aero needles in circular or straights, with Inox a close second. I've tried Addi's and my tension is awful. I ain't gonna fight it. At least it saves me a few bucks.

The worse thing you've ever knit?

Ahaha! You don't have the time to read the list. The most recent would have to be the Sirdar Yo-Yo Pullover. Ewwww.

Your most favourite knit pattern? (maybe you don't like wearing it but it was the most fun to knit)

The Rogue. I enjoyed the knitting so much and I look forward to making another one...perhaps cardiganized. The best is that I enjoy wearing it.

Most valuable knitting technique?

Cabling without a cable needle and finishing. Your knitting can have the most perfect stitches, but it won't matter if your finishing sucks.

Best knitting book or magazine?

Best magazine IMO is Interweave Knits.

The books I most rely on are Knitter's Handbook by Montse Stanley and Vogue's Ultimate Knitting Book for technique. I also love A Gathering of Lace, Cool Socks, Warm Feet and the Knitter's Handy Book of Patterns for patterns.

Your favourite knit-along?

Probably the Flower Basket Knitalong [now defunct] to make the Felted Rose Trellis bag by Nicky Epstein from the 2004 winter issue of Vogue.

Favourite knitblogs?

Oh my, there are many. Many more than you see in my sidebar, but that's a start.

Favourite knitwear designer?

Lucy Neatby. I love her use of colour and her originality. I also like Dorothy Siemans and Hanne Falkenberg. I so want her Ballerina and Mermaid kits. [drool]

The knit item that you wear the most. (how 'bout a picture of it?)

My Lacy Scallops Socks, hands or perhaps feet down.

I'll tag Kim, Eileen, Natalie and Donna.

See ya Saturday.

Keep On Knitting...

I'm looking forward to seeing it as well!!
Yes - cabling without the cable needle! I had forgotten that ... I've been doing it since before it became the thing to do. It is definitely a worthy technique & I love seeing knitters' faces when I show them and they see how simple it is. Written instructions for it can appear cumbersome ... but it will rock your knitting!

And I remember your poor YoYo pullover - it was just when I had started reading your blog. I think that your successes more than compensate!
