Good Grief

I hate corrugated ribbing. Hate is a strong word, but it applies in this instance.

I'm glad that it is only for 28 rounds. Let me tell ya, those were the longest 28 rounds of my lifetime and it took me until 2:30 this morning to get them done. I hate corrugated ribbing. It just goes to show how little experience I have with colour knitting.

I've hit a nice groove now that it's just stockinette stitch. Much better and much faster, which is great because I hate corrugated ribbing.

For those that are curious, I knit one handed for colour work. The main colour around my index finger and the background colour around my third finger with my pinkie used for tensioning. I tried two handed and let's just say, I suck at it. It's too bad because the corrugated ribbing, which I hate to do so much, would be a cinch if I could use two hands.

Here is the inside. What a mess, huh? I was a little paronoid about stranding too tightly. This is probably because of the damn corrugated ribbing [did I mention that I hate corrugated ribbing?] got me all aggravated.

I think I'm off to a good start though. We shall see when it's time to start on the good ole digits.

Now I'm off for a nap.

Keep On Knitting...

Well, you're not alone. I do a lot of colour-work but I still hate corrugated ribbing too!

It looks great - and your back side is not a mess (unless there is some other picture you didn't post!). Colour knitting even with two hands does not necessarily guarantee even tension; I knit two handed colour (being a continental knitter first) and you still have to be aware of the tension. You are doing wonderful - can't wait to see them progress.

It's wonderful!! Did I miss something - do you hate corrugated ribbing? lol You persevered nicely - don't think about the 2nd one.

for something you hate, it's Gorgeous !
but i really understand, because i do colour work all with my right hand too.
And it TOTALLY stinks! it's Slow. It's annoying. It's Tedious ....

your work looks terrific despite your distaste for this method !

Corrugated ribbing certainly is the reason why I haven't gotten really into color-work so far - I would love to, but I just suck at it! I think you're doing such an amazing work with it, it does look fantastic indeed! Keep uo the good work, and best wishes from Austria!

well, I'm a bit late here, but I've heard a hint for that old corrugated ribbing. Round 1, blue, k1 slip1; round 2, white, slip1, p1. I've never tried it, but it sounds so simple... But the gloves are lovely! That's a lot of work, and they look great!
