Drumroll Please...

It was so exciting to finally have the body of the Dragone shawl complete.

Then I started the edging. I was still feeling the excitement after I finished knitting the first edging. Then I picked up the stitches to knit the edging on the other side. It was starting to wear thin. It wasn't moving along fast enough, but I plugged along. After finally finishing the second side and the bottom point, all that was left was the top edging. By this time, I was ready to poke my eyes out. I kept on knitting, though...one slow stitch at a time...all 270 some odd stitches that seemed to drag on and on and on....like this post! [giggle]

Yesterday was the big, "I just cast off the last stitch!" happy dance day. Then I had to cook supper. [pout]

After supper, I started the blocking process. I am very thankful for my blocking wires because this is one huge shawl. The width measures 73 inches and the length is 38 inches.

After a couple of hours of aligning this and that, it was done and I left it to dry overnight.

I added a bead for the eye.

This morning, I released it from its wires and pins to reveal a truly large, yet light and airy shawl.

Pattern: Heere Be Dragone Shawl

Yarn: 2.5 hanks of Misti Alpaca Lace weight in Lacquer Red #0588

Needles: 3.00mm - 32" circular; Aero brand.

Finished measurements: Width = 73" Length = 38"

I'm going to take some more pics of me wearing it over the weekend. Right now, I'm going to relax and knit a simple sock.

Have a good one and keep on knitting.

Managed to get a couple of pics of me wearing the Dragone shawl. Not the greatest and may I ask if anyone else has the problem of certain family members using the newel post as a coat rack? GRRRRRR!

Wow. Every time I see that shawl pattern, I want it. I don't know if I'd ever wear it, but I think it's amazing. And, yes, the newel post is the coat rack. Very irritating. Beautiful shawl!
