A Big Thank You To You!

I have some good news and some bad news.

I'll start with the bad news because it will be buffered by the good news.

The bad news is that my husband has cancer.

The good news is that it's lymphoma and not the dreaded pancreatic or bile duct cancer we feared.

Unfortunately, this means my husband is slowly recovering from a major surgery [whipple procedure] he didn't need. Because of the location of the tumor [an endoscopy wasn't helpful for a biopsy], it was very difficult for the surgeon to determine exactly where or what it was affecting. She decided that it was safer to go ahead with the procedure and let the pathology tell the truth. That being said, my husband still has 6 of 8 nodes affected with lymphoma in that region, so he will definitely be going through chemo and radiation treatment. So please, if I may ask all of you again, keep those positive vibes and prayers coming!

Needless to say, I've been really busy taking care of just about everything, including taking on an odd job to make some extra money. So, my apologies to anyone I didn't get back to.

As for knitting, I've just been able to sit and knit a bit at night this last week, since my husband doesn't need my constant attention anymore. I only managed to finish these...

Yarn: Original Duet DK weight / 8-Ply merino from A Swell Yarn Shop

Colour: Steel Heart

Needles: 3.00mm

Pattern: Toe-Up [still don't care for it]. I improvised the heck out of these. I used the magic cast on [which I love] and increased to 52 stitches for the foot. Then I had to fudge around with the increases in the leg because I wanted to use all of the yarn. I ended up with 80 stitches, but should have left well enough alone when I hit 76. I think I got thrown for a loop when I saw the Yarn Harlot on an episode of Restaurant Makeover. I swear on all that is wooly, I did!

Knit On!
