Float

I just finished making this cape after falling in love with it while browsing through the Rowan book called The Next Big Thing. It's called Float and it's designed by Kim Hargreaves. I'm just sad because I don't think it looks good on me because I'm on the short side. I'll wear it anyway, though!

Hi Michelle,

I hope you don't mind me asking for help... I'm making Float and am stuck (on the back if you can believe it). I can't wrap my head around the decreases... I'm doing a Medium and have just finished my first 4 rows. Did you always dec. by 2 on "Row 1" or did you just knit it? I've emailed Rowan but haven't heard back and my LYS wasn't much help.

Your finished Float is gorgeous! Hopefully I'll finish mine, too.

Thanks!

Dear Michelle,
Oh, I'm so happy I've found your blog!! I'm suffering from exactly the same problem as angifreak in the comment before this (I'm doing a Medium and have just finished my first 4 rows. Did you always dec. by 2 on "Row 1" or did you just knit it? ).
Please share your wisdom again!! thanks!!! Geertje

Dear Michelle,
I seem to be having the same problem as Geertje and Angifreak. I am only on the back, I have done the first 4 pattern rows but when I start the decreases and I don't know how to keep in pattern because as the number of stitches decreases it doesn't correspond with the pattern.

I am very confused! I can't believe I am spending Christmas Eve wrestling with a pattern when I should be chilling out!

It's such a lovely pattern and your turned out so beautifully, if you have any advice I would really appreciate it! (btw I am knitting in medium size)

Happy Christmas!
Helen
