Oh My...

Such a lovely pattern designed by Annie Modesitt and yet another pattern to add to the to-do list.

I'm thinking of making an adjustment and making this pattern with belled or flared sleeves. Think it will work?

Silk Corset Tank Top

The best thing about this pattern is that it is sized for a bust - 35 (38.5, 41.5, 45, 48, 51.5)". I'm a little tired of Vogue Knitting having a women's large being a 35" bust, so this is a very nice range. Jenna Wilson also has a fantastic range of sizes for her wonderful patterns, so hopefully this will start being the norm. Something for the small and something for the busty.

A big thank you to all that gave me their support after my Yo-Yo pullover debacle. I didn't feel so alone in the error of my ways. You guys rock! Let's just pray that I don't do this again though, okay. [wink]

Keep On Knitting...

The Silk Corset Tank Top is gorgeous! What yarn are you going to use for it?

I think this would look great with some sleeves, utilizing some of the same patterns in the body.

Oh yes...a must drool over, must have top...and the belled sleeves would be fab-u-lous! Great way to get out of a knitting funk...hehe...

I think that would be beautiful. I love bell sleeves. Thanks for the kind thoughts about my kitty too.

Oh man, I hate to be a wet rag here, but if I don't say something you might want to kick me later. So, just one word of caution, one point to ponder:

It looks like it has a very wide neckline. Sleeves might drag that neckline further off the shoulders. Maybe not, but it's something worth considering. Perhaps you could knit the corset first and then decide later if the neckline can handle the additional pull of sleeves?

I'm not sure I've ever seen a more intricate knitting pattern! It's beautiful and sleeves I think would look nice.

However, my only worry would be that it would slip off the shoulders a lot. The neckline on that looks large. Sleeves may just weigh each side down more and pull it off the shoulders more.

I had a similar problem with a renaissance corset I made once. Just keep in mind the weight of the sleves :)

its an exquisite pattern, but definitely not for me - I'm busty and thick thru the waist. I can't wait to see what you do with it! And BTW, the YoYo sweater isn't that bad. Don't keep beating yourself up - if you hate it, sell it on ebay or give it away to a friend. :)

did you notice on annie's website that she has an adaptation for cap sleeves? that would be pretty. i'm with everyone else though, full length sleeves would probably pull it off your shoulders.
