I've redone the zipper on Eris and I'm so much happier with the outcome. I lowered it about 2" and it still has a gape, just not so severe. The different colour zipper makes a huge difference in itself.
Here's a hem shot...
Now it is offically a finished project.
Now to knit some more on Inishmore...
It's getting there. Another 7" and the back will be done. This is one large sweater. My husband is gonna love it!
Keep On Knitting...

It looked nice before but now looks so much better. I've been wanting to do this one for some time. I don't think the bottom was meant to be straight across but have that little curve. Great job!
I think that you made the right choiced in redoing the zipper. It definiely looks much better! Great job on inishmore too.
LOVE your Eris!! The colour is just perfect :)
I also fell in love with the shy sheep on your to-do list. Where is the pattern from?
I think it looks better now with out the gap at the bottom too. Great job and you definitely didn't have an issue with the collar and that's good. I was the one that mentioned that previously and am glad to see one without it. I'm impressed, you just finished Eris and now you're knitting Inishmore. Your hubby will love it.
Unless there is a pre-existing mental condition ... of course he's going to love it - it looks fantastic!!
And I like how you got that great mug into the picture too. Gotta get me one of those.
Thanks Helene,
I purchased the Shy Sheep vest pattern at the Waterloo Knitter's Fair from the designer. You can email Mabel Corlett and see if she will sell you one at;
