Let the Games Begin

Or in a few hours yet, anyway.

I have my yarn all wound and prepared to go. Pattern has been printed. I'm itching to cast on. Yep, all ready.

The yarn is Knitpicks shadow in the colours Jewel and their paint your own laceweight. I figure if I botch this project up, it'll have been a cheap botch-up job.

I haven't done any swatching.

Would you on these skinny little suckers?

If I run into a problem, which I expect I will anyway, just because, I have 2.00mm dpn's on hand...and 2.25mm and even 2.50mm.

So, what have I done to prepare for the Knitting Olympics other than wind up the yarn? I finished my Trekking XXL #100 socks.

Gorgeous! I love them.

Pattern: My own basic cuff down pattern [I start with 80sts and decrease down the leg to 72sts]

Yarn: Trekking XXL #100

Needles: 2.00mm

I also whipped out the crochet hook to make a blanket for Ramsay our cat. He likes my dogs blanket, but my dog won't hear of sharing it. Can't say as I blame her.

Little Star Afghan

It's only 24 rounds, but it's large enough for him to snuggle with it in his bed.

Hopefully, I'll try to post more regular updates during the Knitting Olympics on my progress.

Oh, yeah, I changed my blog colours...again. Let me know if you likey, or if you think it's gross, or it just looks blah, or, well, I think you get the gist.

Edit to add: I am so not an eBay girl, but I've been trying to get the Shaun the Sheep and Gromit knitting patterns for some time and I finally broke and did the eBay thing. I won them both. I'm really looking forward to these.

Keep On Knitting...

I like the new blog colours ... very spring-like. :) Your cat's blanket is cute. How big did you make it?

Happy Olympic Knitting!

Yes, I likey the colours...purple and blue, can't beat that! I still can't get over those teeny tiny dpns, and the fact that you're going do knit complicated colourwork with them! And yup, my ONLY ball of Trekking is color #100...we must have been seperated at birth.

Have fun knitting tonight...I know I will (and that I'll be sipping wine very slowly as I work on my shawl...hehe)!

I love the socks; I'll have to get some of that Trekking Yarn - LOL. I like the new colour on your blog, nice and bright. Oh yes, good luck with those mittens - they will look amazing when you are done - could be an interesting process. And I also love the cat blanket; looks excellent and you make it sound like no big deal! Congrats on the pattern win - I tried EBay once but I was not so successful.

I love that pattern and those gloves look like they'll present quite a challenge. Can't wait to see them, and watch your progress.
