I'm Drawing a Blank...

For the last few days, I've been sitting in front of my computer wanting to update my blog and the screen is still blank. I even have a couple of finished knitting projects and I still can't think of a thing to say.

Astonishing, ain't it.

I don't know why I'm having this block. I can usually ramble on and on. So, no wit from me this week...unless of course, you never found me witty to begin with...in which case, you get forty lashes with wet yarn.

I finished my marble cardi last Sunday.

I'll get a photo of me wearing it over the weekend. I quite like it, which is shocking. I kinda thought it was going to be like the Sirdar Yo-Yo Pullover disaster, but I'm happy to report that this is an attractive cardi and great for wearing about the house to keep warm in these now plunging temps.

Pattern: Marble Cardi

Designer: S.R. Kertzer

Yarn: Marble yarn by James C Brent in Berries Colourway - 0009

Needles: 3.25mm and 4.00mm

I also finished the mate to my Crusoe socks.

Pattern: Crusoe Socks from Knitty [modified using 64sts]

Designer: Marilyn A Roberts

Yarn: Paton's Kroy in Paint Box

Needles: 2.50mm

Oh, I also got a surprise last Thursday. Blue Moon Fiber Arts called to let me know that they had lost my order, but found it and I would be receiving my sock yarn plus a complimentary pattern for my wait. I'm quite impressed by their customer service. I knew they were having "bank issues" and was prepared for a little wait with the assumption that they needed time for getting things back on track. They could have just let me continue to scare the bejezzus out of my postie.

Oh, like you haven't done that a time or two?

You see the truck pull up. You're stalking the door for your much anticipated yarn purchase and whip the door open before the postie has a chance to look up and knock. Or, the worst case senario. The postie delivers first thing in the morning...before your first cup of coffee and much needed grooming. I know I'm not the prettiest pig in the mud in the morning, but the look on the postie's face really confirms it.

Pitiful.

Anyway, next week will bring a few projects I'm knitting using my very own handspun. I'll hopefully finish up another couple of mates of socks and working on my second Telemark sleeve. I'll be steeking soon, so if a disaster is something you're in the mood for watching, stay tuned.

Edited to add: Found an adorable pattern online and thought I'd share. It's a PDF file, so you'll need Adobe Reader to view. Yo, Minnie! I bet you'll love this.

Have a good one.

Keep On Knitting...

Love your marble cardi.

The postal delivery guy here is infatuated with me. (No, REALLY!) Between my yarn and knitting book purchases and my son's Amazon orders the postal guy is a frequent visitor. He makes a point of calling me by my first name and one time offered to bring a box INSIDE for me. Um. No. My husband of course is not amused. Heh.

Maybe the poor fellow mistakes my happiness to see my parcel with a happiness to see him personally? NOT.

Great cardigan and socks. And by the way us postie's have seen it all, even naked scary guys. Not pretty.

I love that cardigan! I've been looking at the pattern, but unsure if I'd like how it looked on me. I'm looking forward to seeing the pictures. And those Crusoe socks! The ones I made look so much like them, it gave me a pause when I saw the picture. =-) Very nice knitting work. Your postal worker comment made me laugh, so I'm enjoying your wittiness. =)

Nice sweater and socks-I am having a heck of a time finishing things these days-but now I have that sweet dragon scarf on my list! I've got an older pattern book that has dragon mitts in it-I made them for my daughter-and when my daughter saw the scarf, she said that it would make a lovely set!!!!Darn it-why did I ever teach her about matching scarves and mitts !!!!!!

My Sirdar YoYo pullover is in the bag for the thrift shop. I still like the idea of the yarn, but not the fibre. Your Marble Cardi does look good.
