A Vest of Many Stitches Progress

I finally managed to get a pic of the completed back of the vest I'm working on...

Here is a start to the right front of the vest.

this is tamarabean from KR forums.. your vest is coming along really nicely!! I've got some Reynold's Saucy I'm trying to forget about hehe.. I'm thinkin about giving it another whirl with a smaller needle and see if I can't come up with something nice...

Thanks Tamara.

I've never used Reynolds saucy. They have a lot of gorgeous colours though. I hope you find the perfect project for it.

That is such a beautiful pattern Michelle. I would really like to make one for myself....it is such a showcase for a knitter's skills! Where did you find the pattern? Did it also come in women's sizes?

Thanks Marlene!

The pattern called A Vest of Many Stitches by Sally Melville and it's in the book The Best of Knitter's Arans & Celtics. A female model is actually wearing this in the book, but I decided it is a unisex pattern and I'll just reverse the button band. Sizes for the vest are 38 (42,46,50)" around when buttoned, and 19.5 (20.5, 21.5, 22.5)" long.
There are at least three other patterns in this book that I have to make. It's wonderful!

Thanks Michelle for providing the source for the aran pattern. "The Best of Knitter's Arans & Celtics" is on the top of my "must have" list now. Of course there is always that free shipping bonus at Amazon for orders over $39........aargh! Now I have an excuse for a second book.
