I finished Mariah a couple of hours ago...except for sewing in the zipper, which I need to buy tomorrow.
She looks good, although the sleeves are very long,(they reach my knuckles) and I'm wondering if it was such a good idea to make it the extra large size. I wanted it to be more of a sweater jacket as opposed to a cardigan like my Ribby. I'll be able to judge the length better tomorrow after she's dry, as I gave her a good soak in Eucalan.
Some tips to remember if and when you make Mariah (and for me if I make another one in a smaller size); Knit the sleeves for the recommended length for your size of "19[19, 19.5, 20, 20] inches" and make sure to mark where you left off in Chart C. The chart and sleeves will restart when it is time to join all the pieces together when starting the yoke. (This is where I goofed)
There are corrections to be made in the numbers for the decreasing of the yoke, which haven't been changed as of yet. This is because on row 65 of Chart C, 12 stitches aren't accounted for in one sleeves decreases.
It should read:
155[189, 197, 199, 222] sts rem.
I think that's it! [g]
I'll have pics of Mariah tomorrow and I'll betcha it'll be cloudy...we've had unbelievably cold weather (the blasted pipes in the kitchen are still frozen and I had to have the water turned off all day), but the sun has morbidly been shining brightly away. But, because I'll want to take pics tomorrow, the sun will be in hiding.
I have also started on my mystery project and I'll post some pics of that too...let's see if anyone has as good an eye as Mona who immediately knew I was knitting Mariah when I first started it!
News on my dog: She is doing better. She did go in to see the vet again yesterday...x-rays still just show badly strained ligaments in her knee. She had another shot of anti-inflammatory/pain meds and I'm giving her the same meds at home. Now, we have to wait another couple of weeks to see if she improves. The vet says the ligaments aren't ruptured, but this is three weeks now! I guess ligaments take a long time to heal.
Until tomorrow,
Happy Knitting...

congrats! can't wait to see it. are you going to make us wait until you get the zipper in, or can we see it post block? i can't wait (i know, impatient as usual)
Hooray! You're the first past the finish line!
I can't wait to see it. I'm sorry about the sleeves, I should have mentioned that I like them a little long so they go down past my wrist. It's been causing a few people some problems :(
Please send a pic so I can start a gallery; woo hoo!
Can't wait to see a pic of the sweater. Hope your dog is feeling better too. I love a mystery project....
