This is such a lovely pattern. I'm in love with this colour and best of all, it's going to fit. I just hope I have enough yarn to finish it. I'm not too concerned about it yet, though.
Since the subject of "fit" has been broached, does this look familiar?
If you guessed that it was Mariah, then you're right. Yes, that's right...I've frogged Mariah and will be remaking Mariah, two sizes smaller. I have learned my lesson...again...and if I ever speak of knitting something "larger" than what I should, bring up Mariah and I will slap myself on the forehead and say, "Oh crap." [wink, wink]
I at least managed to finish my Socka socks to help alleviate the growing works in progress I've managed to accumulate. They're a perfect match...
Until you see the very tips of the toes.
Weird.
I also have pushed myself to finally cast on for the other A Step Above sock. I figure I'll knit a tier a night to help alleviate the pain of knitting them.
I want to get as many of these projects done and out of the way so I can finally start making the felted flower basket. I'm really itching to start on this, but I must stay strong.
That's all for now, but I thought I'd leave you with some pretty pics of my orchids in bloom.
Keep On Knitting...

OOOOh, poor Mariah....all gone! I'm impressed that you are going to knit the whole thing again - I most probably would have looked for someone who fits into the first one snd given it away. ZigZag looks beautiful - glad it's going to fit. ;-)
About the "perfectly matching" socks: I have just finished the socks with the best match ever - most of the time they end up being somewhat different in the heel and toe section. Whatever, fraternal socks are just fine...love the colourway of yours.
My socks did the same thing..I knit them toe-up, and the toes are off by like 1 row. But then once I'm past the toe, they match perfectly? I guess it was an extra long section of one color?
I love that orangy sock yarn. I need some!
I hate trying to work out which size to make. I'm the same when I'm shopping - but at least when you're shopping you can take 2 or 3 sizes into the change room and try them on to decide! I'm never quite sure if I'm going to want it a bit looser or a bit tighter when I'm knitting, until it's done and too late!
ZigZag is looking so beautiful. I love your orchids too. If they were mine, they would be bloomless sticks. I can't even keep an african violet blooming.
well, we can tell you're a process knitter. i about cried frogging a sweater i made 3 years ago, and you ripped this before you actually wore it! gutsy, lady, gutsy. beautiful orchids! i can't have plants, my cat eats them :(. carry on!
Your orchids are beautiful! I'm so jealous...something is wrong with mine this year. For the first time in 5 years my orchids didn't send up buds or anything..nada, zip. It's very strange and I miss the colorful corner of my kitchen. I must have done something wrong or differently this year, but I can't think of what.
I have the same issue with socks. Weird. Just the toe, but that is okay.
Mariah is gone eh? Oh well. I'm with you. If it didn't fit, I wouldn't keep it around.
Good luck the second time around.
Holy knitting batman! Zigzag looks amazingm and so do the perfectly matched socks, but I was startled to see the toes! No one will ever notice, but how does that happen? I CAN'T believe you frogged mariah, but good for you. I too, tend to always knit things too big! The orchids are amazing...you must have such patience to grow them!
Happy knitting, hope sock#2 goes quickly!
Zigzag is gorgeous...so sorry to hear that you frogged Mariah. That certainly takes guts to rip her out. Love the socks too.
