It's A Corset...

Not much progress to report.

For the most part, I've been trying to potty train my daughter. I don't want to talk about it and I'm sure you don't want to hear about it.

For those of you that guessed my project in the Sneak Peek was the Silk Corset, you were right. Unfortunately, I didn't think of this being a contest, but perhaps I'll have one down the line.

This weekend I tried to find the 20 or so buttons I would need for the Corset, but it wasn't going to happen. Every button I liked, they only had 12 of, or 15 of. I have a feeling the button hunt will take some time.

Anyway, here is my progress on the Corset...

I'm using Paton's Katrina, which is 92% Rayon - 8% Polyester, in the colour Dawn. I'm so not a blue person, but this was pretty and I could visualize the corset in this colour. I think I'll trim it in white.

I'm making the 38.5" size to fit my 40" bust. Can we say, "nerve wracking." This better fit!

I'll be making sleeves, but I'm still deciding how to go about it. In the beginning I was tempted to make the sleeves 3/4" in length and flared or belled? I'm still tempted, but think I'll stick with a short sleeve.

In other knitting, I've still been working on Eris, though not much. I'm pretty sure I'm at the halfway mark, though.

I also changed the colours of my blog. I guess you kinda noticed, huh? I tried for an autumny feel. Let me know how you like it.

Keep On Knitting...

the blog, she's a nice. and i love the color on your corset (i don't usually do pastels, but that is yummy). and do you remember what comes out tomorrow? i've ordered an autographed copy from the poisoned pen, and since i have no clue when it's going to come, i've put myself on the reserve list at the library for the book AND the cd, lol. i can't wait!

Eris and the corset look fabulous! I really like the blue you chose and it'll look great with white trim. :)

Your blog colours are great! Happy autumn! Have you turned on your furnace yet?? We haven't.

How old is your daughter? Em (2 and 3 months) is SO not interested in potty training. She knows how it all works, she just flat-out refuses to do anything about it. So we're not pushing anything for now. She's done everything else in her life totally on her own (just decided when she wanted to crawl, walk, sleep in a big bed), I'm hoping one day she'll just decide to ditch the diapers and use the potty!

I noticed the colour change right away & double-checked that I had the right blog! I think that I prefer it to the blue - did you ask for opinions? lol
Eris & the corset are coming along great. I have the pattern & ordered the yarn (Naturally Sensations) for Eris. I am going to have to see some pictures of people wearing this corset before I go looking for the courage to knit one for myself.

The corset looks amazing! I never liked Patons Katrina until I saw it knit up, and I think you've made the perfect choice. It's elegant, soft and has the right drape for the corset. Beau-ti-ful...and so is Eris!

Good luck with potty training!

Your corset is coming along very nicely. The shade of blue is very pretty.

I've never used Paton's Katrina but always wondered about how it looked, felt, and what it was like to knit with it. After seeing the beginnings of your project I think I may have to order a little to see how I like it.
