Friday...

was my birthday! I made it through another year relatively unscaithed and other than the fact that I have a nasty cold, it was a great day.

It started off with my dear wonderful hubby [whom spoils me shamelessly] presenting me with my very own sheepie bag.

Isn't it adorable! It's so soft. My daughter has also fallen in love with it and has claimed it for her own. There was a wee bit of a tug-of-war to just get this pic.

After the gift opening ceremony and the slugging back of some drugs to help me with my cold, hubby drove me to the Needlework Festival in Toronto, where I met up with Kim/Curlie Girl, her mom and Grandma, whom also has the same birthday as me! What lovely, charming women they are. We had a wonderful time, but I found the festival itself was geared more towards quilting and sewing. There were several knitting booths though and we had a nice time fondling the merchandise and making a few small purchases along the way.

I cannot come away from any yarn shop without at least a couple of balls of sock yarn. I'm telling ya, it's a sickness. I do try to resist and control the urge, but obviously I don't try hard enough. I came home with this...

a bargain at $4.00 a ball.

and this pattern leaflet.

and waiting for me at home in the mailbox was this...

a ball of Trekking XXL in the autumn colourway from The Knitter.com. Yummy!

I even found time to do some knitting. I've hit the halfway mark on my Feather & Fan Shawl.

Isn't it a lovely crumpled up mess?

I'm using a 40" circular needle and am on the hunt for a 60" circular. If anyone knows of where I can possibly find one in Canada, please let me know. After reading about Donna's hunt for a longer circular for the same project, I figure I might as well start my own now.

I've also made more progress in Inishmore. I'm totally blocking out the fact that I still have the front and a pair of sleeves and neckline to go so it's ready for Christmas. [shudder] I am enjoying the knitting though which makes it easier to pick up and keep on plugging away at it.

I haven't forgotten about Eris. I have just completed the waistline decreases, so I'm also at the halway mark with this project. Slowly but surely, everything will be done.

Thanks to all that complimented my Corset!

Have a good one!

Keep On Knitting...

A set of interchangeables will eliinate your search for needles in the future. I bought a set at Michael's with a 50% off coupon. You can join the cables together to make giant circulars. Maybe you need a belated b-day present for yourself :-)

Love the sheepie bag, so cute!

Hope you're feeling better!

P.S. I may have to order some of that Trekkie yarn since it came so highly recommended for the sock goddess!
