Now I'm Just Cranky...

I gotta find a dress to get married in. I want something very feminine [a.k.a. makes me look young], and simple [a.k.a. please just make me look thin]. I want something in a solid colour, preferably violet. Something like this...

I even like this colour. But why the big freaking print? To try and disguise my already too large arse? I. Don't. Think. So.

As for rings, I think we're going to have to find some sterling silver bands because of my excema, which of course is flared up right now. Won't I be a pretty, blotchy, inflamed, oozing bride.

In any case, I have been knitting on my beaded Diamond Fantasy shawl.

It's a shame I'm pissed off with it right now. Let me just say that the beads are really pretty knit into the shawl, but are damn ugly while bouncing on the floor in a million different directions because my yarn snaps.

So, to keep up my knitting mojo, [a.k.a. resist kicking above mentioned shawl into a dusty, moth-infested corner.] I cast on for these.

Crusoe socks using 64 stitches and Paton's Kroy in the colour Paint Box.

Then I received my Trekking #78 [shades of purple] in the mail. It is so gorgeous, I had to cast on immediately. So what if I have three shawls, one cardi and four sock projects on the go. After all, I'm a cranky, [b]itchy, blotchy, inflamed, oozing, picking beads out of my arse, bride-to-be. It's a good thing that just a ball of Trekking makes it almost better.

Have a great weekend and Keep On Knitting...

The new Sears catalogue has several really pretty dresses in that sort of style. Have you seen them?

The shawl looks great. :) Too bad its being bad. I love the socks too. :)

The shawl does look great, and yes, it's a shame its misbehaving. Or its beads are.

That dress is pretty! Knowing what you want means that all dresses that look like that will mysteriously vanish.

Except, I'm sure, for the perfect one.

It's hard to find a non-traditional dress. Oddly enough i found mine at a craft show. Naughty shawl!! You need to have a talk with it. I love the Carusoe pattern, I have my yarn picked out for it. Boy you have a lot of WIP's going...I thought I was bad ;-).

Good luck with the dress hunt! I like your new look (I've been away for awhile) I'll grab your new button too, I've actually moved blogs, I used to be at http://www.knithappens.blogdrive.com, but now I'm at http://www.dreamsofyarn.com/blog.
Be sure to post a pic when you find that perfect dress!!!

That is a beautiful dress, but I agree on the print.

I'm sure you'll come up with something, and no matter what you look like it'll be a beautiful day. excema and all.

I hate gold, so hubby and I settled on titanium rings. Hypoallergenic, tough, and cute.

We got married in suits. Then again, our marriage ceremony was as small as you can get... me, him, the woman from the county clerk's office, and 2 random witnesses. ;)

Might I suggest an excellent goldsmith (he uses silver, too!!!!) He is :Kim Snyder Goldsmith
402 Barrie St. Kingston ON, K7K 3T7
Phone: 613.549.0509
He made our rings-they are called water rings (as in "no beginning and no end") Mine has a little "window" and the idea is, once you have kids, you can set a tiny diamond for each baby in the window. Still waiting for the diamond, have the kid! All the best!

oh honey, i understand. i just found out yesterday that my MIL isn't going to be able to alter the dress without making it look like crap, so i get to go dress shopping. ugh.

and hte only thing that i've worked on lately that i HAVEN'T frogged has been granny squares (which are autopilot crocheting) and the bags i felt (because those get tossed in hot water!).

and i think my poison ivy may be coming back. even this dose of steroids doesn't seem to be kicking it, sigh.

so we'll both be (b)itchy, cranky brides!

I don't know what's worse - shopping for something that you have in mind or shopping with nothing in mind! I'm sure that you will find The Dress and then the bitchiness will be a vague "Did I say that?" memory.

I'm glad that the Trekking is making it better, 'cause all I've got to offer is long distance commiseration. But I've got a lot of it, so take all that you need.

Shopping for a wedding dress can be tough, no matter what your preferences may be. Just remember to search ANYWHERE they sell dresses. Sometimes the perfect find is somewhere completely unexpected.

Shawl and sock look like they are coming along nicely!

Aww, sweetie pie...the dress is gorgeous, and very, very romantic...sans the horrible big print. I'm sure you'll find something darling...and it didn't surprise me in the least that you cast on for a new pair of socks..gorgous, of course! I'll be crossing my fingers for your perfect dress! Kiss, kiss...
