How Do You Spell Relief?

I spell it 23C/73F.

I'm no longer overheated and cranky. I am irritated though. Why? Well, I'm getting married on September 16. Nothing elaborate. Just a simple, "yeah, I do, now let's party" kinda ceremony. I am gonna look pretty wearing this...

Yep, I decided to make another Diamond Fantasy shawl in plain white with pretty glistening beads.

I am still going to the Waterloo Knitter's Fair. Woot!

So, what's irritating me, you ask?

Well you see, I found something rather perturbing in my mailbox last week. It was a letter from the attorney general...stating I had been chosen to be a part of a jury panel...on August 28th. I don't mind doing my duty. Again. This is my second time. The first I was lucky enough to be chosen for a minor case and it only lasted the one day. Oh, and I can't knit there!! Lord have mercy. Let's hope this time is just as easy. Please, please, please, pray that it goes well so I can attend my own wedding. *sigh*

Anyway, last week was hot. I was cranky. I didn't knit much. So, what does a knitter do when they can't knit because of the stinking hot, mind-numbing, bone-melting, skin-scorching, hair-frizzing, heat won't let them?

Shop, of course.

Ahhhh, the beauty of online shopping. Reclining in my chair, not moving anything but my index finger while I click myself to ecstasy.

I clicked myself the Mason Dixon book. Gotta make some of those ballband dishcloths and the log cabin blanket.

I clicked myself this pretty Kilimanjaro Kat shawl from The Knitter.com. I plan to make this for my sister...whom we all call Kat.

Lastly, since I was already shopping at the Knitter.com, I had to get a ball of Trekking XXL. I chose the #78 [shades of purple] colourway.

I hope those of you that have been suffering this awful heat are getting some relief. Stay cool and avoid the attorney general.

Keep On Knitting...

I love the Kilimanjaro set! Your shawl is going to be beautiful. :)

That sucks about the jury duty. Try writing them a letter explaining that you can't come for X reason. I have gotten out of jury duty TWICE doing that. Once I had a newborn at home and the 2nd time I had a toddler and was pregnant ... Doesn't hurt to try, eh? Or when you get there just start spewing obscenities and they will send you home. *lol*

Your work is beautiful.

You can call the courthouse about jury duty. Tell them you are getting married and could your name be put back in the pot.

Oh goodness! Isn't it crazy how things work out? The timing! I'll be hoping for you that it all works out... I'm sure it will.

... and congrats on getting married. :)

First off congrats on your upcoming marriage, could you possibly contact the Court tell them of your wedding date so they are aware you cannot be available that week.

The Kat Kilmanjaro Shawl was one of my first shawls. I too knit it for my sister whom we call Kat. (her name is Kathleen). (I used Elann's Baby Silk for it)

I hope that you can either postpone the jury duty or that it lasts a day or two. That would be unnerving.

That Kilimanjaro Kat Shawl looks darling.

you should be able to contact them and let them know you're getting married. then they could at least put you off for a bit. the other thing (and this will crack you up) is tell them you think if someone is there, then they're guilty. my ex-husband's aunt used to say that, and then tell them that her son was a captain of the denver police department, and if he said it, it was true. got her out every time, lol.

here's hoping we both have a beautiful sept 16!
