Just Me and My Cardi...

Not bad, huh? [g] I made my cardi one size larger than what I am and I find it very comfortable. I wore it all weekend and everyone seemed to like it. I love the colours, but wouldn't mind making another in warmer colours...like the Redwood/Harvest Heather. I think I'll buy those two colours if they ever come up on Elann.com again.

Right now, I'm making the multi-directional scarf. I decided to make it for my daughter using two skeins of Silk Garden and a hat for her with the left over skein. I think it'll give her plain pink snowsuit a little bit of colour.

I'm not overly fond/impressed by the Silk Garden. The colours are gorgeous, but I have had several knots in one skein and I've found all manner of matter in the fibre, such as thorns. I got one stuck in my finger while knitting in the car. Hubby was surprised! [g] Is this the norm for Silk Garden? I'm also surprised at the coarseness of the fibre considering there is 45% silk in it. I'm sure most of it is the dye and it will soften up after a wash. I don't know if this is something I will use again.

On the other hand, I did make my dog her new sweater with the Kureyon (I've yet to snap a pic of her wearing it), which I really enjoyed using. There is nothing unusual about the Kureyon from other wool I've used, except for the wonderful striping effect and fantastic colours they offer. Kureyon I'll probably use again for a small project.

Now, I must be off to do battle with some frozen kitchen pipes. [sigh] I've been trying to thaw them out with a space heater since eight this morning. So far, not so good. But, so long as they don't burst, I'm happy.

Keep warm and happy knitting!

Fabulous! I really love those colours, and they look great on you. Enjoy! (And I hope your pipes thaw soon... it's supposed to warm up tomorrow)

The ribby looks great!

The Silk Garden will soften up A LOT if you give it a Eucalan bath. I made Klaralund out of it and the more I wear it, the more it softens up. Yes, there are a lot of "bits" in it, but it really is worth it when it is done

Oh no, frozen pipes! I hope they thawed without bursting. Put that fabulous cardi of your on, and at least you'll look amazing while dealing with ugly pipes! LOL! The cardi looks wonderful...you have a great eye for colour combinations!

Your cardi looks great! As does the doggie coat and your daughter's hat and scarf. You are really on a roll.

I'd like to make a dog coat for Shelby, but really, it doesn't get cold enough here. She needs a raincoat more than a sweater.
