You Win Some...

You lose some.

I know that the Knitting Olympics aren't over yet. I have to be realistic though. The fact of the matter is, I won't be a gold medalist.

Am I upset?

Not in the least. It gave me the opportunity to dive in and start a project that I kept pushing to the back-burner. I also learned a valuable lesson.

I hate knitting gloves.

Will this deter me from knitting more gloves?

Not in the least.

Hey, I never said I was smart.

The progress is going smoothly, regardless of my whining.

Two more fingers to knit. This is the reason I do not like to knit gloves. It's fine once an inch or so has been knitted up from the base of the finger. Until you hit that point, it seems that everything is fighting with, well, everything. It's just a drag.

See that wee triangular shape between the fingers in this next pic? That's a little gusset between each finger. Very nice.

I hope to finish off the fingers and start the next glove this weekend. All is not lost for gold, true, but I am not going to push myself over the edge to achieve it.

Keep On Knitting...

They may be at total PITA, but that first one is absolutely gorgeous! And the gusset is such a perfect small detail.
I won't be a gold medalist, either--and I'm fine by that! ;)

Oh my god, they are beautiful - the gussets are so wonderful, little details that probably make the fit perfect. You deserve a double gold for these babies. They really are magnificent.

What a beautiful job on those gloves. I love the colors you chose.

Not to worry about whether you're a gold medalist or not, it's the spirit of the event, and no matter when you finish, you'll have a beautiful pair of gloves. Seriously, I can't get enough of those pics, and that tiny little gusset that's patterned...you're a gold medalist in my eyes!

dont' feel bad, i dont' think i'm gonna make it either. i'm still working on the same square i started thursday night. between pain in the left arm friday night, and a dental appointment involving codeine, and a lot of sleeping, i'm behind. but good.

your glove looks magnificent. i dont think i'd ever attempt anything liek that, i ahve an aversion to fine yarns (yeah, i know, i've got sock yarn, i am certifiable).

go girl, go!

(and have you progressed past pg 700?)

Finish in time, don't finish in time. It doesn't matter, because the gloves are simply gorgeous! Breathtaking!

Fantastic. Keep on plugging away. Even if you stagger across the finish line hours (or days) after the closing ceremonies we will be here, waiting, to cheer you on.

They are amazing Michelle!! And those tiny finger gussets - I have yet to make gloves because the thought of making all of those fingers psyches me out.
