Quick Post...

It's just too hot outside and in the computer room to allow for anything coherent on my part. I love summer, but I can't stand heat waves. I'm always suffering from either a migraine or nausea.

Yes, I drink plenty of water.

Thanks to all that complimented the hat I knit with my handspun. There is so much more for me to apply to my spinning to make it better [like putting more twist into my merino singles], but it's always so good to hear feedback and encouragement.

So, what have I been up to the last couple of weeks?

Since I completed my handspun hat for my husband, I had the hankering to knit another one. I chose Shedir, since I had a ball of Rowan Calmer in my stash.

It was a fun knit...even though it doesn't fit my big noggin.

It fits my daughter, instead.

This is what I had leftover. If I were to make this for myself, I would definitely need an extra ball to add a couple of extra repeats to the pattern. It fits fine width-wise, it just isn't long enough.

I finally finished ONE Fibre Fish mitten.

This is an adorable pattern...really, it is. It's just that it takes a lot of, umm, effort on my part to weave in the ends and stuff. I will hopefully manage to complete the other one before winter arrives. [snort]

I finished up the other pair of socks for a friend.

Socks for a Friend
I think they turned out rather smashing...just keeping my fingers crossed that they fit.

Since those are finished, that left me with no socks on the needles, so I cast on these.

Giotto Socks

These are called Giotto socks by designer Anna Bell. I fell hard for this pattern and it's perfect to use for my first pair of hand-dyed socks. Fleece Artist Merino sock yarn in Ivory, to be exact. It's so pretty, pretty, pretty!

I also did some spinning, but the pics didn't turn out. I'm too hot to care at this point, so it'll wait until the weather is reasonable and I'm sure the camera lens won't fry my eyeball.

Keep On Knitting...

I knit my Shedir on needles a size larger than called for and a wee bit deeper before the crown shaping for it to fit me - but I love it!!
Nice matching socks!

It's always a treat when I go to Bloglines and see that you have updated.

I love everything about those socks in progress. The colour and pattern work together so well.
